The last of the Crescent City pics... (video works now)

This is the view of the Battery Point Lighthouse from our RV.  Nice, huh?  The tides here are amazing, very dramatic changes, much different than what we were used to in Florida.  When the tide goes out it is almost a block away.  The high tide last night was VERY high, I could hear the waves lapping against the berm that separates us from the shore.

This is just one of the MANY squirrels who live in the berm between us and the shore.  They are very aggressive and will go in your RV if you leave the door open.  Jenny and the cats have been enjoying watching them and dreaming of a "squirrel meal."

This is our new friend Dennis.  He works at the Visitor Center here in Crescent City.  We did the "secret handshake" so we knew we were gonna be friends.  He has had us over to his house for dinner and he has been a great tour guide for the area!

This is a movie (15 seconds) of the sea lions that bark night and day.  Not going to miss 'em!  I just reloaded the movie, it should work for you now.  The wind is pretty constant along the harbor, sorry!

The next few pictures are from Stout Grove in the Jedediah National State Park.  Really nice Redwood grove.

Mikey on a BIG log with a BIG tree behind him.

It was a beautiful grove, the ferns and the clover were both unbelievably beautiful!

What the hell is this??  Some kind of slug??  Julie Olson said it was a "Banana Slug."  Ugh!

This was taken at the Park next to the RV park where we stayed.  Next pic has a description.

Big Log!!

We leave Crescent City tomorrow, it has been a very interesting trip with highs and lows.  We will miss our new friend but will not miss the gun fire at night.  ;)

  1. Oh you two! I love reading about our dramatic adventures! Who else would have a gun fight story in an RV park? :) Enjoy the Redwoods while you can, you are in one of the most beautiful areas of the country!
